Would we meet you prior our wedding?
Yes most definitely. I always meet my couples 4-6 weeks before their wedding. This would usually be at your venue so I can have a good look around, even if it's a venue I'm particularly familiar with. This is a great way to get to know each other, talk about your photography options and discuss all the timings etc for the day.
Are you a professional or part-time wedding photographer and do you employ other photographers?
I am a full-time professional wedding photographer and would never ask anyone else to cover your wedding. It really does annoy me when I here of other photographers using part-timers when a couple obviously thought they were booking the real deal. I am good friends with a couple of other top photographers which I sometimes recommend when not available, these guys are also a great back-up should the need every arise.
How do you supply finished images?
My couples usually receive around 400-600 images on usb format. I have recently acquired some beautiful wooden presentation boxes which clients absolutely love. All your files will be at the highest quality and you receive full copyright permission allowing you to print, copy and distribute your images to family and friends, totally without restriction. Along with all your files in colour, I supply an extra folder with a nice selection in b&w plus some retro 'polaroid' type effects.
What would you say is your preferred style of photography/approach for capturing our special day?
I was an early adopter of the more relaxed documentary style of wedding photography, capturing the essence of the day, with guests looking relaxed, happy and mostly unposed. Clients often say my relaxed approach made them feel totally at ease being center of attention for the day.
If an annoying spot appears just before the wedding day can you remove it from the all the photos?
Yes, and normally without charge. Spots and facial blemishes are relatively easy to remove these days using the latest image enhancement software. I sometimes get asked to remove larger objects like stains or even people, this is usually possible but may have to be charged for.
What will you wear to my wedding?
I always wear smart trousers with a matching jacket and formal collared shirt. I like to look professional and fit in with your guests. I'm definately not one of those wacky Hawaiian shirt types... I leave that to my hol!
Should we provide you with a meal?
It's not in my contract however, if I you're having 7 hours or more coverage then I would appreciate a meal please. This doesn't have to be on a table with your guests, but somewhere nearby just in case there's something happening I need to photograph!
Do you have back up equipment?
Yes, I will have at least one an additional camera body, lenses, flash equipment, spare batteries and memory cards.
What if you are sick on the day?
This is an important question some couples forget to ask. I'm happy to say... I have photographed hundreds of weddings over the last 20 years or so and never been unable to attend a single one. I guess one day something will happen, but as long as I'm alive I would always arrange another competent photographer to cover your wedding or offer a full refund if you preferred. For peace of mind I have both Personal Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Which type of wedding albums do you supply?
Mostly Coffee Table Books with pages that look and feel like a real book. There are also some nice contemporary albums available from my suppliers, the choice is yours. There are smaller replica versions, idea for parents and guests also available at very reasonable prices.
How long before we receive the pictures after the wedding?
Your Online Gallery would usually be ready in 7-10 days. All your images are put onto usb which will be ready to post out shortly after, with most couples having this waiting for them on return from honeymoon.
These are the most common questions I usually get asked. Please do contact me if you have any questions about my photography, packages or indeed anything regarding your wedding... I'd really love to help!
